Granada Hills High School, in Granada Hills, California is one of the forty-nine comprehensive high schools of the Los Angeles Unified School District. In September 1960 Granada Hills High School, the Home of the Highlanders, opened its doors to address the educational needs of a burgeoning suburban population in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. Forty-three years later, it reopened in the same location to address new and innovative approaches to educating high school students in the 21st century.
On July 1, 2003, Granada Hills Charter High School (GHCHS) opened as the largest comprehensive independent conversion charter school in the nation. Our school community supported this change to address the instructional flexibility and resources needed to continue a tradition of excellence.

Granada Hills, we praise thee with voices loud and clear.
Our hearts and minds we pledge to our Alma Mater dear. From the halls of wisdom knowledge has guided us to fame. And, as Highlanders, we shall ever guard your honored name. The Highlanders rule over the valley stretched below, Defended in splendor 'gainst each and ev'ry foe. The Kelly green and black and white are the Highland colors true; With the deepest devotion we pledge our hearts to you. |
